Everyday Miracles

Miracles are everywhere if you just take the time to look for them. The interesting thing is that they do not have to be something huge and overwhelming. No, miracles happen in simple things and in the places you least expect, especially in nature.

For example, suppose you were looking at a tree and saw its bareness, its gnarled old branches and saw that some of them had been broken off by the wind. As you stood looking at the tree you meditated on the fact that that tree looked as if it had withstood many storms during its existence. Then, without knowing precisely where the thought came from, you realized that if that tree could withstand all those storms and still be standing, that you could take on the storms in your life also. The symbolism you detect here connects you with a power greater than yourself. Your intuition tells you that there is something so right about the connection.

At other times, you might have to deal with something annoying, but instead of focusing on the negative in the situation, you decide to see the positive angle of it. Immediately, you sense that the annoyance wasn't worth getting upset about. Your reaction may be the result of prayer, but it doesn't have to be. It may be what many refer to as good common sense or intuition.

Many people believe you meet certain people right when you are suppose to. The crossing of paths often happens to play out a certain role in the universe. Realizing this can also be considered a miracle. Most people don't realize these small things, but when you step back and look at the big picture, you can often see why things unfolded the way they did.

Looking with wonder and awe at the world around you and being in touch with the events in your life will open your heart and mind to the presence that is greater than you can imagine.
